Vanguard Technologies PLC (VT) was established on July 23, 1997 in Ethiopia with the initial objective of engaging in delivering the following services: Study and design of engineering activities Contracting, installation, supervision, commissioning, and maintenance of industrial and construction machinery and plants Provide consultancy services Import of industrial and construction machinery including asphalt batching plants, concrete mixing plants, aggregate crushing plants, hydraulic crawler drills, generators, etc Provide professional after-sales services for customers With the view to respond to new opportunities, VT has revised its business objectives in September, 2007, by including “rental business of construction or any other machinery, equipment and tools" as one of its objectives. Accordingly, VT has expanded its area of engagement within the construction industry. VT has over fifteen major clients who purchase its core products, and several clients using its non-core products. In line with its core products/services, VT imports various machinery from overseas manufacturers and assists its customers in the installation and after-sales services of the machinery in close collaboration with the technical staff of the clients themselves as well as the suppliers as required. Vanguard started with an initial capital of Birr 60,000 (sixty thousand birr), and has shown a very rapid growth rate to reach its current level of Birr 25,000,000.00 (twenty-five million birr).
